Questions HVAC owners ask about organic growth

The questions below are the ones HVAC owners ask us most, from price and contracts to what happens if a previous agency let them down. Each answer comes first, with the detail after.

Most HVAC owners come to organic marketing after a bad experience: an ad bill that kept rising, or an SEO agency that sent reports but changed nothing. The short answers are in the questions on this page. Below, we cover the four topics that come up in nearly every first conversation.

Frequently asked questions

How much does organic HVAC marketing cost?

Monthly plans on HVAC.Agency start at $2,998, and websites start at $3,500 one-time. Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST/HST is added by province (GST and QST in Quebec). The pricing page explains what each plan includes.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. There is no lock-in, and you can begin with a 7-day free trial that needs no credit card. If the organic work stops paying its way, you should be free to walk, and you are.

How long before organic SEO brings calls?

Map-pack improvements can show within weeks. Website rankings usually take three to six months to move meaningfully, and the biggest gains tend to arrive in months six to twelve. Roma Heating & Cooling grew organic traffic 400% in 12 months.

Can we stop our Google Ads straight away?

We advise against it. Cutting all ads at once usually leaves a gap of several months while organic traffic grows. Our ad-spend exit plan cuts spending in stages, only where organic rankings can carry the calls.

We tried an SEO agency before and got nothing. Why would this be different?

Ask what the last agency actually changed on your site and profile. Often the answer is very little beyond a monthly report. We show every change we make, in your own accounts, and we measure success by calls rather than rankings alone.

Who owns the website, content and accounts?

You do. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics stay in your name. If you leave, you keep everything, including the content we wrote.

Can you promise first-page rankings?

No. Nobody controls Google's results, and promises of a specific position are a warning sign. We commit to a written plan, consistent work, and honest reporting on what it produced.

What do you report each month?

Calls and texts by source, organic traffic, map-pack visibility, rankings for your most important searches, reviews gained, and a plain list of what we changed and what comes next.

How much of our time will this take?

About one to two hours a month: a short review call, checking technical content for accuracy, and sending job photos. During the first month, expect a little more while we set up access.

Do you work with small HVAC companies?

Yes. Organic work often suits small companies best, because their budgets can't compete in a peak-season ad auction. We'll tell you honestly if your market needs more than a small budget can do.

Are you an HVAC contractor?

No. HVAC.Organic is a digital marketing and business consulting service. We don't install, repair or service equipment, and we never compete with clients for jobs.

Do you work in Quebec and other French-language markets?

Yes, with care. Quebec's language rules mean websites and advertising for Quebec customers must be available in French, so a Quebec organic plan includes French content. See our Quebec page for details.

Can you help us with AI search tools like ChatGPT or Google's AI answers?

Organic work and AI visibility overlap a lot: clear, answer-first, accurate pages are what those tools tend to quote. We write that way, but no one can promise an AI citation.

Price and value

Organic marketing is priced on skilled work, not media spend. Our plans follow HVAC.Agency's published pricing: Starter at $2,998 a month, Growth at $4,498 and Elite at $8,998, with websites from $3,500 one-time. Tax is GST or HST by province, or GST and QST in Quebec.

The fair way to judge that price is cost per booked job over 12 to 24 months, not over the first quarter. A ranking service page keeps producing calls long after the work that built it is paid for. Our pricing page includes a worked budget comparing ads with organic work.

Timeline and patience

Organic growth starts slowly and speeds up. The first two months are mostly fixing things: site speed, page structure, profile categories, tracking. Calls from those fixes can start early, especially from the map pack, but the larger gains usually arrive between months six and twelve.

This is why we rarely recommend cutting ads at the start. Our 12-month timeline guide shows what typically happens each month, including the months when it looks like nothing is happening.

"We tried an agency before"

Plenty of HVAC owners arrive having paid for SEO that produced little. The usual causes are easy to spot afterwards: monthly reports with no changes behind them, dozens of near-identical city pages, links bought from unrelated sites, or a Google Business Profile nobody touched. Before you judge organic marketing on that experience, ask for a list of what was actually changed on your site. If the answer is thin, the method wasn't tested; only the invoice was.

Ownership and control

Everything we build for you is yours. We work inside accounts registered to your business: your domain, your hosting, your Google Business Profile, your Search Console and analytics. That matters most when something goes wrong. Owners who let a previous agency register their domain or profile have sometimes lost both when the relationship ended.

Before you hire anyone, including us, check three things:

  1. Is the domain registered in your company's name?
  2. Are you an owner, not just a manager, on your Google Business Profile?
  3. Can you log in to your website and analytics without asking the agency?

Reporting and accountability

Every monthly report answers three questions in plain language: what we did, what changed, and what we will do next. The numbers come from your own accounts, so you can check them without us.

A useful report for organic HVAC work includes:

  • calls and texts split by source: organic website, map pack, paid, direct
  • organic visits to service pages, city pages and articles
  • positions for the 20 to 40 searches that matter most to your revenue
  • reviews gained and replied to
  • a list of pages created, rewritten or fixed that month

If a report from any agency, including ours, only shows rankings and traffic graphs without calls, ask why. Rankings are a means; booked jobs are the point.

When organic isn't enough on its own

Organic marketing isn't the right answer for everyone, at least not alone. A brand-new company with no reviews, a firm entering a new city next month, or a business that needs cash flow in the next 30 days may need some paid advertising while organic work builds.

We'll say so if that's your situation. The aim is to make ads a choice rather than a dependency, and our ad-spend exit plan is how we get there. If your question isn't answered here, contact us: call, text or email, and a senior strategist will reply.
